Seller's comment :
Huge rarity , invisible recording made on ORPHEE , it feature the quatuor PASCAL ( with LEON PASCAL and cult french violonist JAQUES DUMONT ) with M BOUSSAGOL double bass and MICHEL GOETGELUCK oboe ..This record is not only rare , it is probably one of the essential interpretation of PROKOFIEV quintet ..How to explain the great atmosphere of this record ..ACCORDING TO ME this recording defenetly remind me the original style of PROKOFIEV when he is playing the piano ( the HMV recordings when he plays his cto and his pieces for piano ) we recognize the tense and dramatic modern approach as the master were playing it ..I don't know about it , but the musician were probably knew PROKOFIEV during his stays in PARIS ( he was the great friend of POULENC ) and probably had some tips to play it ...
Anyway trust me this record is not a boring intepretation of the PROKOFIEV quintet and JEWISH OVERTURES but a pieces of art as the sound will defenelty match with the most difficult MELLOWMANS ..The soundof modernity and the energy present in this record are just ESSENTIAL ..Plus the ORPHEE vinatge 50°s rendering, make a top atmosphere that ot many records have ..
ESSENTIAL and high level of music / must during the whole session .;you will re discover the PROKOFIEV quintet
CONDITION, the sleeve is NEAR MINT ( it look curved on the pic because i was listneing back the record while i took the pics ) , but the sleeve is in real NEAR MINT condition, the record is very beautiful with a very clean surface but graded EX because i don't want to clean the record on machine , it pay with light crackles but a solid EX , record have been listened two times ..
