Wayne Shorter is an American jazz saxophonist, composer, and arranger, born on August 25, 1933, in Newark, New Jersey and dead on March 2nd, 2023 in Los Angeles.
He began his career in the 1950s, playing with local groups in Newark and New York. He quickly gained the attention of major jazz musicians, including Horace Silver and Maynard Ferguson, and began playing with renowned artists such as Art Blakey, Miles Davis, and Herbie Hancock.
During the 1960s, Wayne Shorter was a member of Miles Davis' famous quintet, with whom he recorded several major albums such as "ESP", "Miles Smiles", and "Nefertiti". (See more)
