Matthieu Chedid was born on December 21, 1971 in Boulogne-Billancourt (France). He began his musical career very early by participating in 1978 in his father's (Louis Chedid) song "T'as beau pas être beau" with his sister Emilie. He quickly masters several different instruments and starts to play together with the sons of Laurent Voulzy and Alain Souchon , respectively Julien Voulzy a> and Pierre Souchon . They successively found the groups called Les Bébé Fous (crazy babies), Les Poissons Rouges (gold fish), and Tam Tam with Mathieu Boogaerts . Later on he plays on stage and also records albums with artists such as Faudel , Tryo , NTM , Sinclair , Nina Morato , Guesh Patti , Gérald de Palmas , Arthur H , Vanessa Paradis , Brigitte Fontaine , Roméo Elvis . In 1996, he appears as an eccentric character called -M- in a song entitled M3 on the album Paniac by Billy Ze Kick . His paternal grandmother Andrée Chedid, a Franco-Egyptian poetess of Lebanese origin, has written several songs for -M-. Following the Victoires de la Musique in 2018, Matthieu Chedid becomes, like Alain Bashung , the most awarded singer in the history of French music with a score of 13 trophies.
